About Uri Shavit

Born in Jerusalem, Israel, my art is drawing and painting in various mediums.

 

The main focus of my work is portraiture.

My work is realistic but never photo realistic.

I work with charcoal, pastel and oil.

​

I love the classical era and influenced mainly by the old masters from the renaissance and baroque period.

 

My pastel technique is based on an adaptation of the classic oil painting layering methodology. That includes deep understanding of human anatomy and building layers of color.

​

I teach my technique in frontal workshops and online.
